About the Book of Lamentations Quiz

Lamentations is a book of five poems mourning the destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon in 586 BC. Traditionally linked with Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, it gives voice to raw grief: the empty city, the starving children, the ruined temple and the shame of defeat. Four of the poems are alphabetical acrostics. At the very centre of the book stands one of the Bible's great statements of hope, that the LORD's compassions never fail and are new every morning. This quiz covers all 5 chapters, and every answer comes with the chapter and verse.
